Thompson & Brown was built around a simple idea: building a custom home should feel personal. We intentionally remain a smaller custom builder, typically managing only four to five projects at a time. That allows us to give each home and each client the attention they deserve.
A Dedicated Project Manager.
Every project has a dedicated Project Manager, while Gavin remains personally involved throughout the entire build as your licensed contractor. That involvement matters. It means knowing the details of your home, understanding the decisions behind them and working closely with you and the entire team throughout the building process.
No signature style — by design.
We don’t have a signature architectural style, and that’s intentional. Every client, property and design is different. Our job is not to make your home look like a Thompson & Brown home. It’s to understand the vision you and your design team have created and execute it exceptionally. From contemporary mountain homes to traditional architecture, our experience across a wide range of styles allows us to approach each home on its own terms.
The relationship matters as much as the home.
A custom home takes time, and the relationship between builder and homeowner matters. Over the course of a project, we spend a lot of time together sharing ideas, making decisions and working through the details that come with building a custom home. We believe the experience of building your home should matter just as much as the finished product, and we work hard to make that experience collaborative, enjoyable and built on trust. Many of the relationships we’ve built extend well beyond the completion of the home.

A custom home is the work of many talented people. Over the years, we have built strong relationships with skilled craftsmen, subcontractors and suppliers who share our commitment to doing things well. Many of these relationships go back years, through countless projects and homes built together. Clear expectations, good planning and open communication allow creativity and craftsmanship to flourish, particularly when a project calls for something unique or challenging.
